If you’re in the market for Apple’s new colorful MacBook Neo, you may have to wait a few weeks to get your hands on it. Here’s the latest on MacBook Neo availability, and where you might be able to get it soon. <\/p>\n

Where to buy a MacBook Neo<\/h2>\n

There are many reasons to choose to buy your new Mac from Apple itself, especially if you’re trading in an old device or want to finance it with an Apple Card. However, Amazon currently has a better selection of MacBook Neo inventory available for immediate shipping.<\/p>\n

As you can see below, Apple’s website currently quotes 2-3 week shipping estimates for all MacBook Neo configurations. In-store availability varies by location, and some cities have same-day pickup available. Most, however, also quote download times of 2-3 weeks.<\/p>\n

                  In addition to Apple and Amazon, the MacBook Neo is also sold at Walmart, Target, Best Buy, and Costco. Your mileage will vary greatly based on the local listings for those vendors, however. It’s worth giving those vendors a shot as well. <\/p>\n

                  9to5Mac’s Take<\/h2>\n

                  It’s amazing to me that right now you can’t go into an Apple Store and buy any of Apple’s cheap Mac models. In addition to the supply constraints of the MacBook Neo, the Mac mini has been delayed even further. Apple’s Online Store is currently showing the base model of the Mac mini that has been pushed back to mid-May. Things are a little better at Amazon, but you still can’t get a Mac mini right away.<\/p>\n

                  And as we highlighted last week, this story is worse in the end, with some preparations for Mac Studio until August and September.<\/p>\n

                  The exception, I think, is that the lack of supply of the MacBook Neo is due to Apple’s uneven demand. A report today suggested that Apple has lost demand for the MacBook Neo so badly that it may run out of A18 Pro chips altogether.<\/p>\n

                  The lack of supply of the Mac mini is likely driven by two factors. First, the increased demand for the product itself is driven by AI tools and agents like OpenClaw. There is also, of course, an industry-wide shortage of components that directly affect RAM.<\/p>\n

                  My guess is that the lack of supply of the base model of the Mac mini is mainly due to the former, while the delay in the higher-end configuration is mainly due to the latter.<\/p>\n

                  Either way, it’s a strange time to be in the Mac market. The good news, however, is that the new M5 MacBook Air appears to be less affected by these delays. You can get a MacBook Air from Apple the same day for select configurations, and within a week or so for almost all other configurations.<\/p>\n

                  Apple will report its quarterly earnings on April 30, and I expect we’ll learn more about the current state of its acquisition chain then.<\/p>\n
