Garmin has added a new sharing option to the Connect app, which delivers transparent data and map overlays in different formats. It gives finished workouts a cleaner, more polished look, with key stats and route maps overlaid directly on top of your chosen image.<\/p>\n

To use it, open the completed task, tap the share button and choose from the available properties. From there, the finished image is ready to be posted wherever you want, whether that’s social media, messaging apps or elsewhere.<\/p>\n

A neat way to share your workouts<\/h2>\n

The update is aimed at users who like to post their sessions online without needing third-party editing tools. Garmin is clearly leaning towards community-friendly formats here, with three measurements covering the most common use cases.<\/p>\n

The 1\u00d71 layout works well for regular social posts and feeds. The 4\u00d75 format is best suited for portrait-style feed posts where you want the image to take up more screen space. Then there is the 9\u00d716 option, which is perfect for Stories, Reels and other vertical formats.<\/p>\n

What stands out is the transparent design itself. Rather than putting the route map and workout statistics inside bright boxes, Garmin lets the image be front and center. The data sits naturally on top of the image, giving the final result a clean and modern look.<\/p>\n

As shown in these examples, the app covers the heart rate, distance and walking rate according to the route outline. It makes the share card feel less like a screenshot and more like something designed to be sent on purpose.<\/p>\n

Subtle change<\/h2>\n

What makes this interesting is less about the feature itself and more about where Garmin Connect is headed. The app has long focused on data analysis, training load and post-workout information, but updates like these suggest that Garmin is once again paying more attention to presentation.<\/p>\n

This isn’t an entirely new idea in the fitness app space. Strava and a few third-party tools have offered activity-sharing cards with route and stats overlays for a long time, so Garmin isn’t breaking new ground here. What it does is deliver a cleaner, more polished version of what’s done directly in Connect.<\/p>\n

For many users, the workout doesn’t end when the run or ride is over. Sharing progress, routes and milestone sessions has become part of the wider fitness experience, whether that’s with friends, training groups or a wider online audience.<\/p>\n
