A notable addition is support IF-Droidan open-source app store, which allows users to install third-party apps directly on the panel. This includes the ability to launch the Home Assistant app locally, or access it through a web interface, effectively turning the device into a dedicated smart home dashboard. Users can also assign a third-party app as the default home screen, while the panel continues to use its native interface in the background.

Besides device control, the panel includes system-level features:

Controlling the temperature in one place – with support for monitoring and managing the temperature in all multiple rooms

Customized home security systems – including arming scenarios with sensor-triggered alerts

Camera integration – includes support for SONOFF and RTSP compatible cameras

Customizable UI – with user-defined layouts and background images

These features are designed to position the panel as a whole-home control interface rather than just a smart switch.

NSPanel Pro Gen2 is powered by a quad-core ARM Cortex-A35 processorpaired with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storageallowing it to run multiple applications smoothly.

Communication includes:

Dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4GHz and 5GHz)

Zigbee 3.0

Essential support with built-in bridge functionality

The panel also includes a built-in speaker and microphone, allowing for additional communication options such as intercom-style communication. From Matter’s point of view, the NSPanel Pro Gen2 functions primarily as a bridge and integration point, rather than a simple storage device.

By exposing both Zigbee and Wi-Fi devices to Matter platforms, it effectively extends Matter interoperability to devices that would not natively support the standard. This makes it particularly suitable for users with mixed ecosystems or existing eWeLink setups who want to consolidate control under Matter.

NSPanel Pro Gen2 combines several roles into one wall-mounted device:

An important bridge

Zigbee gateway

Double relay wall replacement

Smart home dashboard with app support

With its ability to display non-Matter objects in Matter ecosystems, along with the functionality of a local dashboard through the Home Assistant, it represents a more flexible way to control the average smart home than conventional wall panels, although this is an 86-style device, obviously aimed at European users, not North Americans.

You can pre-order the SONOFF NSPanel Pro Gen2 from Sonoff’s own website, priced at around $117.

I SONOFF NSPanel Pro Gen2 introduced as an updated version of the company’s smart wall-mounted control panel, combining switching, dashboard control, and multi-protocol hub functionality into a single device.
