Interestingly, that’s cheaper than the official store route. But there is an important catch. The Kickstarter prize includes a Mini Charger that is smaller than the larger PRO charging case sold through the Ultrahuman website.

The cheap router comes with a small charger

The title number is easy to understand. The Super Early Bird Kickstarter tier costs $299 and includes the Ultrahuman Ring PRO, three free PowerPlugs for one year, the Ring PRO Mini Charger and a Type-C to Type-C cable. Local taxes and customs may still apply, but free worldwide shipping is part of the reward.

That puts the Kickstarter price slightly below the Ring PRO price shown on Ultrahuman’s direct channel. The official website is currently selling the Ring PRO with PRO charging case for $479.

The difference lies in the charging device. The Kickstarter prize includes a Mini Charger, which Ultrahuman describes as the Ring PRO’s compact daily charger. It’s a small dock that connects via USB-C and is designed for easy charging at a desk, in a gym bag or while traveling.

Turn on the Pro mini charger

The official website bundle features the larger PRO Charging Case. That accessory adds more than just another way to charge the ring. Ultrahuman claims the case extends total battery life to 45 days, stores one year of call data, includes Find My Case support with an integrated speaker and supports Qi wireless charging.

Pro charging case

So yes, Kickstarter is cheap. But the official store bundle offers you the most powerful charging service from day one.

The core Ring PRO pitch remains the same

The Ring PRO itself remains the same. The Ultrahuman claims up to 15 days of battery life, a dual-core processor with chip machine learning, BLE 5.3 and up to 250 days of call storage. The ring also has 100 meters of water resistance, a unibody titanium design and ProRelease technology, which allows it to be easily detached if finger swelling or injury becomes a problem.

There are four finishes on offer: Bionic Gold, Aster Black, Space Silver and Raw Titanium. Sizes range from 5 to 14, and a free sizing kit is sent before the actual ring. That’s useful because smart ring fitting can be difficult, and an incorrect fit can damage both the comfort and performance of the sensor.

Ultrahuman is also running a campaign to push Jade, its real-time biointelligence AI. The company says Jade connects ring data with Blood Vision biomarkers, M1 CGM glucose trends and Ultrahuman Home environmental data. It is available as a platform upgrade to Ultrahuman users worldwide, including Ring AIR users, so this is not standalone as a Ring PRO-only feature.

The campaign also relies on PowerPlugs. These are extra health tools for Ultrahuman, and the Super Early Bird tier includes three of them for free for one year. Included PowerPlugs are for Respiratory Health, Cycle & Ovulation Pro and Cardio Adaptability, with the bundle priced at $130.

Kickstarter adds a different kind of buying decision

The low Kickstarter price makes the Ring PRO easy to consider, but it also changes the buying environment. Shopping through Kickstarter is not like ordering through a regular online store.

That said, this isn’t a mystery startup trying to build its first device. Ultrahuman points to previous Kickstarter campaigns for the Ultrahuman Ring and Ring AIR, and says it previously raised nearly $1 million from 3,135 backers. The new campaign also surpassed its $10,000 goal quickly, with nearly $30,101 pledged in the first few hours and 29 days to go.

That doesn’t remove the usual Kickstarter caveats, but it makes the campaign feel a lot less predictable than most crowdfunding outfits.

For consumers, the decision is easy. The Kickstarter lowers the early bird price, but the Super Early Bird tier includes a Mini Charger rather than the large PRO charging case sold through Ultrahuman’s own website.

I reviewed the Ultrahuman Ring Air back in 2023 and came away thinking the basics were already solid. It was light, the recovery and sleep tools were useful and there was no registration to deal with. The weak parts were comforting sharp edges and uneven health data, so the Ring PRO feels like Ultrahuman is trying to move the hardware up a level with a long battery life, a strong titanium construction and a more sensitive charging setup.

Sign up for our monthly newsletter!
