An industry trade show will take place <strong>May 5-7 at the Los Angeles Convention Center<\/strong>and the exhibition in the South Hall. For students in LA, LG Display&#8217;s booth will be part of the Display Week exhibition, where the company will present its new lineup under the theme. <strong>&#8220;OLED Evolution for the AI \u200b\u200bEra.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The star of the LG Display show will be its own <strong>third-generation Tandem OLED technology<\/strong>designed primarily for automotive displays. Tandem OLED stacks multiple organic light-emitting layers to improve <strong>lightness, efficiency, and durability<\/strong>and the technology was first sold by LG Display in <strong>2019<\/strong>. Announced at CES 2024, this latest generation will push the technology forward, as LG Display claims <strong>18% lower energy consumption<\/strong> again <strong>more than double the life span<\/strong> compared to the previous generation.<\/p>\n<p>This third-generation Tandem OLED panel is aimed at cars and can reach up to <strong>1,200 nits of light<\/strong>. LG Display says it&#8217;s designed to maintain its performance <strong>more than 15,000 hours at room temperature without degrading the display<\/strong>. This is important because car displays face harsher conditions than most consumer screens: heat, cold, sunlight, long operating hours, and the expectation that they will continue to work reliably for years.<\/p>\n<p>According to LG Display, the development is coming<strong> a newly developed OLED material that optimizes the movement of holes and electrons within the panel<\/strong>which helps reduce screen distortion while maintaining the same image quality. The company also uses a <strong>deep blue dopant<\/strong> to develop <strong>color purity, color reproduction, brightness, efficiency, and longevity<\/strong>. Mass production of the first third-generation Tandem OLED panel for cars is planned <strong>this year<\/strong>with expansion into IT and other applications expected later.<\/p>\n<p>The company&#8217;s Display Week booth will be more than just cars. The LG Display exhibition will revolve around three areas: <strong>Tandem WOLED, Tandem OLED, and Innovative Technology<\/strong>. Visitors can expect large OLED TV and monitor panels, laptop and tablet displays, OLED gaming panels, automotive displays, and futuristic concepts that fit into what the company calls the AI \u200b\u200bera.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-353981\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/cdnssl.ubergizmo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/LG-DISPLAY-Humanoid-Display.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1500\" height=\"1126\"\/><\/p>\n<p>One of the newest demos will be <strong>The first LG Display<\/strong> <strong>P-OLED solution for humanoid robots<\/strong>. The flexible panel will be designed as a display for a humanoid face, but the same idea could apply to other areas of robotics. It will use Tandem OLED automotive-grade information, incl <strong>high brightness, durability, long life<\/strong>and the ability to operate at all required temperatures.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_353980\" style=\"width: 1510px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-353980\" class=\"wp-image-353980 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/cdnssl.ubergizmo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/LG-Display-83-inch-Tandem-WOLED-4500n.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1500\" height=\"1125\"\/><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-353980\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Tandem 83-inch WOLED TV panel &#8211; 4,500 nits peak brightness and 0.3% reflectance<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>LG Display will also display the <strong>The 83-inch Tandem WOLED TV panel is rated at 4,500 nits peak brightness and 0.3% reflectivity<\/strong>and OLED panels for games, including a <strong>27-inch OLED with a refresh rate of 720Hz<\/strong> and a <strong>39-inch 5K2K curved OLED panel<\/strong>. For laptops, the company will introduce a <strong>16-inch Tandem OLED panel<\/strong> designed to be smaller, lighter, and more economical, extending battery life by <strong>up to 2.3 hours<\/strong> compared to conventional OLED.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ll be at Display Week in Los Angeles to see LG Display demos in person, including <strong>third-generation Tandem OLED panel<\/strong>i <strong>A humanoid robot display<\/strong>once <strong>concept car with automotive display solutions<\/strong>.
