Zepp Health describes the Cheetah 2 Ultra as a watch designed for trail runners who face long exposure, unpredictable terrain and sustained load. That explains a lot of the hardware direction.

This is the model for people who want more screen space, more battery capacity, more storage and proper offline map support. The official listing also mentions full-color maps, ultra-fast navigation and a Trail Running mode with load settings, giving the Ultra a clearer outdoor identification than the standard Cheetah high.

Amazfit Cheetah 2 Ultra

The Cheetah 2 Pro sits on a slightly different track. It is mainly intended for marathon and performance running, with a simple design and a small but sharp display on paper. So this is not just a best vs worst comparison.

It looks like Zepp Health has split the Cheetah line into two running watch models. One is designed for long tracking efforts, while the other maintains road focus.

The Ultra is heavy but not too big

The Cheetah 2 Ultra measures 47.4 x 47.4mm across the entire case. Zepp Health lists the thickness as 15.6mm including the heart rate sensor and 13.3mm without it.

The Cheetah 2 Pro is very close in size. Measuring 48 x 48mm across the case, it is 15.6mm thick including the heart rate sensor and 13.2mm without it. So the two watches are almost identical in thickness, while the Pro is slightly wider.

The biggest difference is the weight. The Cheetah 2 Ultra weighs 52 grams without the strap, while the Cheetah 2 Pro comes in at 45.6 grams without the strap.

Amazfit Cheetah 2 pro

Zepp Health also gave the Ultra a 22mm strap setup. The official specification lists black silicone and striped green nylon options, while the Pro uses a 20mm silicone strap with a classic pin buckle.

That wide belt fits the Ultra’s exterior. The nylon option also makes sense for longer efforts, especially if you’re looking for something more breathable than silicone.

The display is bigger on the Ultra

The display is one of the differences that is easy to understand. The Cheetah 2 Ultra has a 1.5 inch AMOLED screen with sapphire glass, a resolution of 480 x 480, 323 PPI and a maximum brightness of up to 3,000 nits.

The Cheetah 2 Pro has a 1.32 inch AMOLED screen with sapphire glass, a resolution of 466 x 466, 353 PPI and a maximum brightness of up to 3,000 nits. So the light figure is aligned, but the Ultra gives you a bigger canvas.

That should help with maps, exercise sheets and visualization during long outdoor sessions. For a road watch, that makes sense. The additional visual data on the wrist is useful when the surface is uneven and standing to fiddle with screens quickly becomes annoying.

Battery and storage are the biggest winners

The battery is where the Ultra clearly pulls ahead. It has a 780 mAh battery and is listed for up to 30 days of normal use, up to 60 hours in Accurate GPS mode, up to 33 hours in Trail Running mode and up to 228 hours in GPS high battery mode.

The Cheetah 2 Pro has a small 540 mAh battery. It is good for up to 20 days of normal use, up to 10 days of heavy use, up to 8 days with AOD enabled, up to 31 hours in Accurate GPS mode, up to 69 hours in GPS power saving mode and up to 99 hours in extended GPS mode.

So the Ultra still has a strong endurance story, especially for long trail efforts. But the Pro is not weak on the battery. It just sits on a functional and organized training track.

Storage doubles. The Cheetah 2 Ultra has 64GB, while the Cheetah 2 Pro has 32GB. That gives Ultra more room for maps, music and offline use.

The main stage looks very similar

Most of the underlying hardware appears to be shared. Both watches use BioTracker 6.0 PPG biometric sensor with 5PD and 2LED. Both include accelerometer, gyroscope, ambient light, geomagnetic, temperature and barometric altimeter sensors.

The satellite position also appears to be correct. Both support dual-band positioning and six satellite positioning systems, so the Ultra doesn’t seem to get a different GPS category on paper. The real difference is how long each watch can last while using those tools.

The communication is slightly different from the official sheets. The Cheetah 2 Ultra is listed for Bluetooth, BLE 5.2 and Wi-Fi 2.4GHz, while the Cheetah 2 Pro lists Bluetooth, BLE 5.3 and Wi-Fi 2.4GHz.

The same applies to general hardware additions. Both watches include a red and white flashlight, a microphone, a speaker and a linear motor, so day-to-day control and utility settings seem very compatible.

The Ultra gets a full exterior package

The official list of Cheetah 2 Ultra also offers 180+ game modes, while Cheetah 2 Pro lists 170+. That difference isn’t huge in itself, but it reinforces the same divides seen elsewhere. The Ultra gets a comprehensive exterior package, while the Pro keeps the focus on simple off-road performance.

The functional feature set is also extensive. Zepp Health lists built-in workouts, Zepp Coach running programs, lactate threshold, running power, ground contact time, running gear management, Track Run tracking mode, intelligent trajectory correction and virtual pacer.

It also supports connection to nearby fitness devices, including heart rate belts, running power meters, cycling power meters, cycling speedometers and cycling cadence meters. Third-party synchronization includes Runna, Strava, TrainingPeaks, Apple Health, Google Fit and Intervals.icu.

Which one looks the most useful

The Cheetah 2 Ultra is built for long, hard runs, where battery life, screen size, mapping and storage are more important than shaving off every gram. 1.5 inch display, 780 mAh battery, 64GB storage, 22mm strap, 180+ sport modes and 33 hours in Trail Running mode all point in the same direction.

The Cheetah 2 Pro is a lightweight off-road option. It’s simple, has a sharp display on paper and still maintains the same functional toolkit with support for external sensors.

So the separation is very clean. The Cheetah 2 Ultra makes more sense if you want the Cheetah line pushed on trails, ultras and long outdoor sessions. The Cheetah 2 Pro makes more sense if you’re looking for a lightweight marathon-focused watch.

Both watches are on the Zepp Health website now.

<figure
