What is it like to use the EarFun Clip 2?<\/h2>\n The EarFun Clip 2 is easy to wear and use, and surprisingly well priced. It does a lot without making things too complicated.<\/p>\n

EarFun Clip 2 is an open earbud with an ear clip design, built around a very thin nickel-titanium frame wrapped in soft silicone. The frame bends open and close to squeeze it in your ear, and it works with light enough pressure that you can wear the buds for extended periods of time without discomfort. They are lightweight and stay put – even shaking your head won’t dislodge them. Each bud has a 12mm magnetic driver behind an elliptical sound hole, which EarFun says is designed to expand the sound stage. The whole package carries an IP55 rating, so it can withstand sweat and light rain.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The case is lightweight plastic – functional but nothing special. The controls come with one visible button on the back side of each ear clip, and are easy to press without having to push the bud out of place. Single, double, and triple taps hold playback and call functionality. Overall, these are simple, lightweight, and comfortable earbuds that don’t strain the basics.<\/p>\n

The EarFun app packs a surprising amount into budget earbuds. There are four listening modes: Game mode reduces latency; Theater mode expands the soundstage (although it won’t be used next to LDAC); Privacy mode lowers the volume to reduce noise leakage; and Game Sound Effects mode enhances in-game sound cues such as footsteps and natural effects.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The EQ options are many. You get a long list of presets covering bass boost, treble boost, bass cut, treble cut, pitch boost and cut, and a spread of genre-specific edits. Besides, there is a 10-band custom equalizer for manual adjustment. My favorite here is SoundSense, which allows you to create an EQ preset that matches a specific song you’re listening to, which you can save to your device for later use or share with others.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The app also includes AI translation (which requires an EarFun account to set up) and supports many major languages, including English, Mandarin, Japanese, Korean, and Spanish. There’s also dual device management, a low-power mode, and hearing health features like volume controls.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

How long does the EarFun Clip 2 battery last?<\/h2>\n The EarFun Clip 2 lasted 10 hours and 46 minutes in our test using the SBC codec. EarFun claims up to 40 hours of total battery life per charging case. With LDAC enabled, that drops to 6 hours per charge and 22 hours total. Overall, that’s significantly higher than rival earbuds, which cost more than twice as much. The case also supports wireless charging for convenience.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The noise rejection algorithm does a decent job of filtering out noisy areas, but it can be quite aggressive – sometimes suppressing the speaker’s voice and background noise, leaving the rest of the phone muffled and difficult to hear. The wind presents its own story: a strange echo in the speaker’s voice that gradually grows.
