In this step-by-step tutorial, we explain how to get the newly announced Smart Siri and the new Siri app on your iPhone, iPad, and Mac running iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27 Golden Gate.<\/p>\n The new Siri uses Google’s Gemini base model and is much smarter now. The development of Siri was one of the highlights of this year’s WWDC, where Apple showed what it can do.<\/p>\n Siri now has on-screen notifications. As a result, you can be in any app and ask Siri about the content on your iPhone screen.<\/p>\n Siri can now even handle complex multi-level tasks, and there are new Siri apps that work like ChatGPT, Grok, and other AI chatbots.<\/p>\n Here’s how to try it out before it becomes available to the general public later this fall (~September 2026).<\/p>\n Siri and the new Siri AI are only supported on devices that support Apple Intelligence.<\/p>\n You can follow this tip now, or do it in case the new Siri doesn’t work for you later.<\/p>\n The next step is to get iOS 27, iPadOS 27, or macOS 27 Golden Gate on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac. All of this is currently in developer beta, with a public beta expected in July, and a general release in September.<\/p>\n We have a full tutorial that explains how to install iOS 27 on your iPhone if you’re willing to try the developer beta and live with the bugs, issues, and problems that often come with beta software.<\/p>\n After running iOS 27, iPadOS 27, or macOS 27, go to Settings<\/strong> \/ System Settings<\/strong> > Siri<\/strong> > and press Try the New Siri<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Now you will see Siri with Apple Intelligence splash screen; of the tap Join the Waiting List<\/strong> > Go ahead<\/strong>.<\/p>\n You have now joined the waiting list. All you have to do now is wait. Some people were admitted after a few minutes, while others, like me, had to wait more than a day.<\/p>\n The important thing to note is that you only have to join the new Siri waiting list for one of your devices. After I joined on my iPad, I saw the message “Added waiting list” in the Siri settings on my iPhone and Mac. Of course, it doesn’t mean that all three of my devices have the same Apple Account.<\/p>\n Once you have passed the waiting list, you will receive a notification from Apple informing you of this. You may also see a banner at the top of the Settings app. Even if you don’t get a notification or banner, go to your device from time to time Settings<\/strong> > Siri<\/strong>and once you’ve passed the waiting list, you’ll see a Try the New Siri<\/strong> option; tap it.<\/p>\n Tap now Go ahead<\/strong> > Go ahead<\/strong> you have Siri with Apple Intelligence<\/em> splash screens.<\/p>\n You will now see ‘Siri (Beta). Enabled Apple Intelligence screen\u2026’. You’re ready to use the updated version of Siri with new animations and a new Siri app.<\/p>\n Ask for the new Siri using the same method you did in the past or by swiping down from the top of the Dynamic Island. Speak or type your question to use the new Siri.<\/p>\n You’ll also get a new Siri app on the Home Screen.
