They are available for pre-order now <strong>$2,195<\/strong>with <strong>$200 refundable deposit<\/strong>and are expected to be shipped <strong>Fall 2026<\/strong> of <strong>US, UK, and France<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Snap also provides SPECS with a strong introduction to fashion and culture. The campaign was shot by a famous photographer <strong>Steven Meisel<\/strong> and features <strong>Kaia Gerber, Jimmy Butler, Hoyeon, Imogen Heap, and Jack Harlow<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Despite its wearable vibe, SPECS packs impressive hardware into a surprisingly light frame. What sets the SPECS apart from the competition is that it is a fully self-contained AR<strong> glasses<\/strong>with <strong>no puck or tether<\/strong>. They use a <strong>Swiss TR90 polymer frame<\/strong> available in two sizes: <strong>47 mm by 132 grams<\/strong> again <strong>52 mm by 136 grams<\/strong>. They include Snap&#8217;s <strong>liquid-crystal-on-silicon display<\/strong>a <strong>51-degree field of view<\/strong>, <strong>16 million colors<\/strong>again <strong>electrochromic lenses<\/strong> that transition from clear to tinted in <strong>10 seconds<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Internally, the use of SPECS <strong>two Snapdragon processors<\/strong>although Snap did not reveal the exact chip models. One processor handles <strong>computer vision<\/strong>while the other is dedicated to performance <strong>AR lenses<\/strong>. Snap claims <strong>7 ms image motion delay<\/strong>which should help digital objects stay strong in the real world.<\/p>\n<p>Battery life is limited by arrival <strong>4 hours of mixed use<\/strong>while the charging case provides four additional charges up to <strong>20 hours in total<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>According to Snap, SPECS can be used <strong>directions, location measurements, AI assistance, private screencast, whiteboard, entertainment, and shared AR experiences<\/strong>. That puts them somewhere between lightweight AI glasses and mixed reality headsets.<\/p>\n<p>Closer competitors show that Snap&#8217;s approach is ambitious and explains the high price tag.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2<\/strong> the glasses start <strong>$379<\/strong> and they are very simple almost <strong>it&#8217;s 52g<\/strong>but they don&#8217;t have a display. <strong>Meta Ray-Ban Display<\/strong> glasses cost <strong>$799<\/strong> and add a small screen for the right eye around it <strong>69-70 g<\/strong>but their display has a <strong>20-degree field of view,<\/strong> and they are not full-surface AR glasses. I <span style=\"box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;\"><strong>it&#8217;s 98g<\/strong><\/span><strong>  The Orion prototype<\/strong> it&#8217;s close to SPECS with real AR graphics and scope <strong>70-degree field of view<\/strong>but it is not a consumer product, it is reported to cost approx <strong>$10,000 per unit<\/strong> to build, and requires a <strong>wireless compute puck<\/strong> and the neural wristband.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Xreal Aura<\/strong>launched today at <strong>Wow 2026<\/strong>it is also close in weight by <strong>less than 95 g<\/strong> and provides scope <strong>70-degree field of view<\/strong>but it depends on <strong>external computer puck<\/strong> which houses the main processor, battery, and heavy components. The Xreal Aura glasses deliver superior XR performance and thus require an external computing unit. The price has not been disclosed. <strong>AR\/AI glasses by Rokid<\/strong> they are also very simple <strong>it&#8217;s 49g<\/strong>and internal battery as well <strong>Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1<\/strong>but use a simple monochrome waveguide display and it&#8217;s cheap <strong>$599<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The SPEC costs $2,195<\/strong>measure <strong>it&#8217;s 132g<\/strong>then pack <strong>two Snapdragon processors<\/strong>battery, cameras, audio, and a <strong>51-degree full-color AR display<\/strong> framed with <strong>no external puck or tether<\/strong>.Pre-orders for <strong>Exchange shares PECS<\/strong> they are open now <strong>Specs.com<\/strong> of <strong>US, UK, and France<\/strong>. Glasses have a price <strong>$2,195<\/strong>with <strong>$200 refundable deposit<\/strong> required to reserve a pair.
