Apple has a full lineup of 15+ new products launching this fall, including the Apple Watch Ultra 4\u2014here are four new rumored features.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n last summer, Digitimes<\/em> it has been reported based on supply chain sources that this year’s Apple Watch Ultra 4 is expected to double the number of sensor components.<\/p>\n Recently, the store said that the Ultra 4 will bring “significant improvements in sensor functions.”<\/p>\n Digitimes<\/em> says the new sensors will allow Apple to reduce its reliance on algorithmic data interpretation, which could lead not only to better health data, but also improved performance and battery life.<\/p>\n Apple has been working on adding blood sugar monitoring to the Apple Watch, but despite some encouraging recent trends, that feature is currently not expected this year.<\/p>\n Digitimes<\/em> also reported that the Apple Watch Ultra 4 brings a “major redesign,” also called a “full redesign.”<\/p>\n Last year, the Apple Watch Ultra 3 featured some design updates, but they were very minor. So the Apple Watch Ultra line has never received a major design overhaul.<\/p>\n Back when microLED was in Apple’s plans, the 2026 Apple Watch Ultra was expected to be even bigger. Without new display technology, those plans may have changed.<\/p>\n The Apple Watch already offers hypertension notifications on compatible hardware. But per Digitimes<\/em>Apple is preparing to introduce a new feature related to blood pressure.<\/p>\n Apple has added a new high blood pressure notification feature to the Apple Watch, sharpening the device’s health management appeal…This feature has not been available to the public as it is still being reviewed by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n It is not known how this will differ from the current hypertension notifications provided by watchOS. But Apple is expected to unveil the new health feature in September at an event alongside the Apple Watch Ultra 4 and the introduction of the Apple Watch Series 12.<\/p>\n Maybe because of the new S-class chip, or the benefits related to the new sensors, Digitimes<\/em> says “energy efficiency will improve significantly” in the new Ultra model.<\/p>\n Last year on the Apple Watch Ultra 3, battery life improved for the first time in the Ultra line. And it sounds like that’s possible with the Ultra 4 as well.<\/p>\n Battery gains appear to be the most likely result of significant efficiency improvements. There are other possibilities too, like Apple shrinking the battery to make room for other sensors. If it can deliver the same great battery life with a noticeably smaller battery, it can make that trade-off.<\/p>\n We are still a few months away from the launch of the Apple Watch Ultra 4 which is expected to launch in early September.
