Coming back to things, rumors are swirling about the development of its next flagship phone.

The rumors started from a few different sources this week. The first comes from Galaxy Club (Dutch), which claims that the Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27 Plus could get camera technology from a new company (via GSMArena). Samsung often swaps in-house Exynos chips to Qualcomm when their phones are launched in other markets (markets other than Korea or Europe). Now, rumor has it that Samsung may ditch its camera sensor, ISOCELL, in favor of Sony.

The publication cites information from an unnamed source, which states that this switch to Sony is being “tested” for the S27 and S27 Plus’ main sensor. Early tests indicate that this sensor will come as 50MP, and that’s only if testing goes well and we see it succeed. The Galaxy S27 rumors don’t stop there, as tipster Lanzuk on Naver (Korean) says the phones could get a general battery upgrade.

Latest Videos AppearingAndroid Central

Lanzuk says the silicon-carbon battery technology is currently being “tested for application” in Samsung’s next phones. While it’s easy to get excited, Lanzuk says there are still a lot of moving parts. On the other hand, the battery capacity is said not to have increased. However, this may be due to the early stages of the series, as “nothing is finalized.”

There are many changes

<picture data-new-v2-image="true"></picture>

(Photo credit: Nicholas Sutrich / Android Central)

Camera rumors have not been shy about the Samsung S27 series. Specifically, there have been reports about the changes to the Galaxy S27 Ultra, which say it could sport an ISOCELL HP6 sensor. Although this is an “advancement,” the device was still rumored to offer 200MP with this new sensor. Let’s not forget about the alleged “Galaxy S27 Pro.” Word has it that Samsung could release four Galaxy S series phones next year, and the “Pro” is the new kid on the block.

            You might like it

The S27 Pro may feature cameras close to the Ultra experience, but with “completely new sensors” to change things up. The battery rumors for the S27 series are interesting. We’ve heard rumors about Samsung potentially “catching up” on its competition with better, bigger batteries. Yes, we are talking about silicon-carbon batteries, but nothing is certain. What is something something—and nice to see—is that Samsung’s latest folders are rocking this new technology.

Android Central Take

It feels like we’re entering a different timeline for Samsung.
